2019 Major Donors Evening
The Pointe-à-Callière Foundation’s 2019 Major Donors Evening will highlight Richard Béliveau’s important contributions as a researcher, collector, and philanthropist.
A Doctor of Biochemistry and the Scientific Director of the Chair in Cancer Prevention and Treatment at the Université du Québec à Montréal, Richard Béliveau is the author of over 240 articles published in medical journals around the world. He is also deeply passionate about Japanese civilization. He has amassed one of the world’s largest collections of Japanese art, which was the subject of a magnificent exhibition at Pointe-à-Callière. He recently donated some objects from his collection to the Pointe-à-Callière Foundation.
Under the honorary presidency of Richard Béliveau, the Major Donors Evening will take you on a journey into the world of Japanese culture, synonymous with refinement and aesthetics, in which the Samurais’ values of courage still persist. With the evening’s distinctive ambience reflected in every detail—right down to the food on your plate—come join a leading Quebec personality for a unique immersion into a fascinating culture!
