Over $222,000 raised for the Richard Beliveau Fund
The UQAM Foundation and its partner, Nautilus Plus, announced today the results of the 10th edition of the fundraising event “30-minute workout to help out the Fund”. Over 5,000 brave athletes helped raise $222,307 for the Richard Béliveau Fund supporting scientific research conducted by the Chair in Cancer Prevention and Treatment. During this event, participants burned over 3 million calories as they engaged in solo or group cardiovascular exercises for 30 minutes.
For the 5th year in a row, teams of 4 could enrol in a second activity, the 4×4 team challenge, whereby each member burned a maximum of calories during cardiovascular exercises lasting two consecutive hours. A total of 418 teams successfully tackled this bold challenge.
Since 2008, the fundraiser helped raise over $2 million benefiting the Richard Béliveau Fund. With these proceeds, the Chair can focus on cancer research and innovative prevention approaches.
