Globally, it has been estimated that lack of physical activity is directly responsible each year for five million deaths, as many as those linked to tobacco. A study recently published in the prestigious Journal of the National Cancer Institute, which compiled the studies performed on this  topic over the past few years, indicated that people who do very little physical activity are considerably more at risk for certain types of cancer.
